Bilateral Arrangements

Nepal has signed bilateral labour agreements with some major destinations countries, namely, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Bahrain, Japan, Jordan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Israel and the United Kingdom.

Japan (Technical Intern Training Program)

Memorandum of Cooperation on the Technical Intern Training Program between the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan and the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security of Nepal. The agreement was signed on 1st January 2024.

India (remittances)

The Indo-Nepal Remittance Facility (INRF) is a cross-border remittance scheme established to facilitate the transfer of funds from India to Nepal (one-way). Launched in May 2008 by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), its objective is to offer a secure and economically viable channel for Nepali migrants working in India to remit money to their families in Nepal.

Japan (Specified Skilled Worker)

The agreement was signed on 25 March 2019.
