A meeting of the three major parties — UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML — and UDMF held at Gokarna Forest Resort here today decided to suspend the Youth Self-Employment Programme until the government approves its regulatory framework, disclosed Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel.
Organising a press conference in the capital, youth wing of CPN-UML, YAN Chairman Mahesh Basnet said YAN would organise Valley Bandh on December 6, demanding the resignation of Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun. Basnet also said the government had vitiated atmosphere by suppressing a peaceful protest by YAN.
According to Basnet, YAN will submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and lodge a complaint to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority regarding the misappropriation of YSESE Fund on Monday.
Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament Ram Krishna Yadav said the committee would summon the PM and ask him to check if the fund was being misused.
He added that the prime minister would also be questioned on fake VAT bills issue, government's failure to appoint officials at the public bodies through competition and non-collection of tax from casinos.
